Symmetrical Architecture

Asymmetrical is the violation or absence of symmetry, or the presence of asymmetric relationships in a system. Symmetry refers to an important property of abstract and physical systems and it can be expressed in various artistic terms or in less aesthetic terms.

In the aesthetic standpoint symmetry is the appearance of order and pattern in a world that is otherwise random. A symmetrical form of art will look great both in a formal setting and in the home. But even though there are many forms of symmetry, the most common are the symmetry of color. In color, all colors are either mirror images of each other, mirror images of equal magnitude, or equal magnitudes of their nearest neighbors.

Symmetrical relationships between objects are equally important in architecture

If an object has two equal sides, then its symmetry is maintained. Symmetrical relationships between objects have been shown to be aesthetically useful by the structuralist Richard Neutra in his theories about space.

The asymmetrical relationship of the horizontal and vertical lines in a building is very important for the architect to consider when designing a building. An asymmetrical relationship between two objects can create a certain tension that creates interest, balance, and harmony in the entire structure. There are many uses for asymmetrical symmetry in architecture.

The building of a church, for example, may use a symmetrical pattern in the construction of the walls to support the ceiling and to provide the support for the pulpit and altar. The symmetry of the structure will also be attractive to the visitors and congregants of the church.

Many symmetrical arrangements in furniture and decorative objects in a room are used as part of a design for a room. An asymmetrical relationship of an object to another object in a room can create an illusion of space that gives the impression of depth and creates a certain sense of openness in a room.

If you want to create an ambiance in a room that will make it feel warm and inviting, you can use symmetry to do so. You can create an atmosphere of light and air by placing a table in the center of your room and using symmetry to create a pleasing view.

A good example of asymmetrical design is the use of a mirror

Because mirrors mirror images can be easily seen in a reflective room, a mirror placed strategically throughout a room can reflect back the persons face and make it appear larger than the size of the room. Symmetrical furniture will create the illusion of space. In fact, if you place furniture in a room with a mirror and in the right areas, it will seem to expand and fill the room, making the room feel larger.

Symmetrical patterns can also be used in a room for decorative purposes. When choosing a pattern for your home or office, take care to choose one that is visually appealing and one that will not be overpowering. For instance, if the furniture in your living room has a country style, then you would probably want to choose something different than something made from dark woods and heavy metals.

Symmetrical chairs, tables, and other decorative pieces in your office should be chosen carefully. If you are looking to create a more formal look, then you may want to choose a chair with a more formal style. If you are looking for something more informal then you may want something less elaborate or a country style that is more casual in design.

Symmetry is also important in interior design and in art. Symmetrical objects such as paintings and sculptures can enhance a certain feeling in a room.

This theory of symmetry is used in architectural design in almost everything that was ever made in human history. This concept can be used in architecture to create a harmonious relationship between objects.
